Great widget- I've been using it for a couple of years now! Need help with this though- all of a sudden, the text color is black instead of white- which is no good because my desktop is black. Any thoughts? Sent you an email, but it bounced. Thanks in advance.

Can't give this widget any stars at all. It is giving me the same time for London and San Fransico! Very Bad!
Also, I would like to be able to adjust the size. (Not a biggie though)

Received an automatic notification from Yahoo to update the Widget Engine.
After doing so, the following error message was displayed:
Unable to load 'timezonabulator'. It's main XML file was either not found or not readable.

Daylight savings are not used, so time zones have to be updated manually after daylight savings. Particularly confusing with north/southern hemisphere changes, and European/North American daylight saving changes.

Is this ever going to be updated? It's *by far* the best-looking world clock, but yes-- if you open the preferences, the time zones will get messed up. I guess I'll just have to leave it closed, and write down the correct settings. It would also be cool if it could maybe check with the built-in system clock or some webpage, and keep track of daylight savings by itself.

I give it 2 stars for effort. The timezones are wrong, and it doesn't keep the correct settings.

Nicely done. One complaint... I can't figure out why the darn thing resets the timezones +.5 everytime the preferences dialog is opened. It's a bit frustrating. Otherwise, it looks very nice sitting across the bottom of my desktop. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this let me know. The address is widget(at)davehb(dot)mailshell(dot)com. Thanks!!

I like it, except it seems to shift my saved timezone settings by +.5 whenever I open the Preferences dialog. I need to manually reset them all to their proper settings, else it will bump them all (except #1) by .5 hour.

The BEST world clock! I have it sitting at the bottom right corner of the screen, and the white appearance theme blends nicely with the default Blue system theme I'm using. I've tried a bunch of other world clocks, and this is the most streamlined of them. To make this the perfect world clock: ability to select and add various state/country time zones and automatically synchronised to the respective apple time servers as per "Date and Time" System Preferences.

Is there any way of getting back the metal appearance? With the current 3 formats, it gets lost in the background for me :( Otherwise, it's great. I'd even go back to an older version, except that I can't find it anymore

This is a very nice and simple clock, but as I only noticed today, it's not changing over for DST. Maybe I'll just set the clock to a time zone that's +1 of mine :-|

This widget suffers from the short-sighted notion that all timezones are static. It offers no support for time changes.
Not comprehending daylight saving/summer time is a critical failure. Different regions make that switch at different times of the year (or not at all) making that aspect of foreign times quite important.

Per broxhole's earlier comment - not having +13hrs is a nuisance (I'm in NZ in summer) and a bug producing wrong times for other places - London is 3 hours wrong, though LA is OK. Very strange.

Very nice widget. The preference panel should allow the offset to go up to +13 (for New Zealand). However, the code was trivial to fix.

From the Reference Manual:
Synopsis savePreferences()
Description Normally a widget’s preferences are automatically saved whenever the user edits them using the Widget Preferences panel or when the widget exits. If a Widget is manipulating preference values in JavaScript it can ensure they are saved to disk in a timely manner by calling this function.

the extra preferences dialog is always accesible by pressing shift+command+f11 / the problems with those preferences not saving is annoying but it's part of the konfabulator "form" coding. if someone knows how to save those preferences i'm all ears. / some more revisions and implementation of the suggestions listed here will be in the future

It's an excellent piece if you ask me, would have rated higher if not for the fact that I have to set preference (like how many zones to view, 24-hrs AGAIN everytime it's launched, i.e. with every reboot. Kind of irritating. Is anyone else experiencing that?

I like the simplicity of your design but I have been looking for a multi-zone clock that accounts for daylight savings times at the extremities of the planet >> My problem >> I live in the UK but have family in NZ which is currently +13 hours!!!
Other Time by Hide Itoh does this because it takes its data from the OS international timezone prefs(?) >>> but I would prefer a widget rather than dock app. I have had a little play with your xml but to no avail. Please help.

Great! I have three requests: 1) tighten up the spacing, or allow the user to do it; 2) allow more than three time zones; 3) allow for time zones that are not exactly one hour off (India, for example, is GMT +5.5). I live on the west coast, work on the east coast, and my company's headquarters are in India. It's really nice to be able to tell at a glance what time everyone's at.

i updated the code to update once a second now and i plan on adding more options. the red dot was my way of indicating it's in "24hr" mode... in hindsight maybe annoying. but i'm also working on making it "skinnable"

really nice one but if you switch to 24hrs mode it will show a small red dot at the top of every white line. why? it's pretty annoying...

Great idea, but I have to agree with Arlo, and I'm not as good at tweaking as he is. It would be nice to see the changes he made in a future version of this widget. Being able to choose how many cities to keep track of (with a maximum of 10 or so) would make this a killer.

Very nicely done. My only complaint is that it updates twice a second... but I tweaked the code to remove the seconds display on my system, and made it update every 10 seconds.
Very useful.
