Offworld Time
loki der quaeler

Building off the idea by Jim Pelletier, this allows the displaying of up to three cities in any time zones, performing summer offset calculations, and allowing display customizations.

version 0.72 changes are:
[bug fixes]
• north american summer time offset calculations had a bug
• the text metric calculations were failing miserably, thanks to Arlo for pointers to fix the behaviour.

-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
version 0.65 (initial release):
• up to three definable cities
• ability to define text colour (either by explcit hex, or using the mac osX colour picker)
• ability to snap the Widget to the right side of the screen
• performs summer offset (daylight savings time) logic for north america and the eu (and countries abiding by one of those two conventions)
• the size of the time cell maintains constant insets to the text and centers the time/city display
• ability to display 12h or 24h time
• ability to disable drop shadows
• much less CPU intensive than 'World Time'

Hey, I was wondering if I could use your DST calculation code in a Dashboard widget. Or maybe you have some other advice about calculating DST.
The widget I'm working on is currently available here:

I love this widget but for some reason it no longer works for me. It starts to load and I can see it blink onscreen momentarially but then it dissapears. Any idea why? I am runnign 10.3.6 o a 1.5 GHz G4 Powerbook.

I love this widget! bring it back to me.

Many thanks,

I rely on this widget regularly. It's great and works reliably.
My only wish is that it could display more cities: 3 is not enough!

if you have it set against the right side of the screen, check the preference for having it snap to the right side, which will avoid it resizing offscreen.

best widget to display time in other time zones, that i have seen, but oddly it resizes itself to display the time. i have it set in the bottom right corner and when it goes from 9:59 to 10, the little box gets larger and partly off screen. if it was set as a specific size, it would be much better

Nice widget, would be perfect it the GMT offset include the identifiers, like "CEST", "EST" and the like for certain important timezones.
