very useful tool that doesn't take too much desktop real estate. With the new version of google desktop it fails.
The security code should be followed after "?" but it is appended to after the security code which breaks it

I've found out how to make this work with Google Desktop 2
* Run regedit * browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareGoogleGoogle DesktopAPI * double click on search_url * A text box will appear saying: http://127.0.0.1:4664/search&s=###########################?q= * Copy the #####s part, and paste this into the widget's prefs
The search should now work properly
Now if only it had the realtime search results that the normal google desktop search thing does

Yeah, me too. Google Destop 2 seems like it just doesn't work with this widget. Please advise!

Just like Dave commented on...I'd love to give this a 4 star rating if only I could get it to work with my Desktop google. I've tried to enter the google security code ####'s as specified in the preferences but I keep getting the message "invalid request". Any suggestions???

Looks great, but I just installed Google Desktop Search 2, and now the security code in this widget no longer appears valid. Anybody have a suggested fix?

Fantastic! The only thing I'd ask for is to pick the color of the border, or have the option to have it gray or some neutral color other than blue....

Trying to harmonize my desktop, I re-made the graphic part of your widget and tried to contact you in order to have your authorisation to launch it here (with your copyright on it) but found nothing, no contact, no mail.... Bouhhh!!! If you agree with my proposition mail me at wendyts@free.fr
In case not, thanks for this great widget (and useful for me)!
Charlene.

Great Idea - I must admit that I am biased, but DO try X1 http://www.x1.com as an upgrade for Google Desktop :)

How about one for Yahoo! desktop search. Just tried it and I think it is more powerful - a little to much sometimes, a mix of google and yahoo would be nice.

Great! Though I would like to see a slimmer version, even thoug the blue is very nice looking. I have made one taking away the blue stuff, and only leaving the text and the search field. Now I can but it on the top of my screen always on top of the topmost window bar. Also I'd want the search field to be emptied after a search has been queried, so people passing by don't notice my search strings all the time.
Thank you for a perfect add on to Google Desktop Search, now I'm just waiting for Google to present the results in a more nice structured way.
