Great widget!! I modified it to myself so that it's finnish english but since i don't know how to code i can't make it so that I could select the language on the fly. The next step would be to include all the languages from that site.

I haven't been using my own widget for a while, so I haven't kept up with the changes to Konfabulator. I downloaded the latest version of what is now known as the Yahoo! Widget Engine and opened up Svengelska. It worked fine for me. I am running OS X 10.4.5. The only thing I noticed was that the cursor doesn't always show up in the text field, even though the cursor is actually there. You just need to type your word as usual. I may get around to fixing that but don't count on it. With OS X's built in Dashboard, and an existing Swedish Lexikon widget there is limited motivation to keep developing the Konfab one. As for Anya's problem I can only suggest an all-round upgrade - that works on my system.

I just installed Svengelska, and it doesn't work.
1. When I enter a word and press enter, a blank browser window open. Nothing more happens. Not even a url in the address field.
2. The browser window is Internet Explorer though I have Firefox as my standard browser. Is it possible to instead use the choosen standard browser?
A great idea though. :)

Excellent work! I've been looking for something like this for some time. Quick and easy to look up that pesky word that eludes you! :)

Thanks for the feedback Branstrom. I developed the widget on a Mac so the Mac version has no problems with Swedish characters. I did test the widget on a PC but I didn't notice the problem you mention – though I have now! Its a document encoding problem. I will sort it out ASAP.
You're also absolutely right about direct text input being a better approach. I hope to change that for the next version.

It doesn't work with swedish letters å ä and ö. And so it is not very useful right now. But it's a great idea. Another improvement could be to make it possible to write search queries directly into the textfield in the widget.
