Hey, it's probably a stupid question, but where can i get the pretty icons you have in the screenshot up there? It's pretty disappointing to have all the same icon for my widgets... I like some eyecandy XD Good job, by the way. Congrats!

Hi, great Widget. It would be nice if it was possible to choose a different colour for the wheel. I have a light wallpaper on my computer and the widget is almost invisible on it. A "dark" skin would be nice.

bluejaybee, I have all widgets set from normal to heads up only; EXCEPT the dock. The dock (and I'll write as i look has the following checked): 1. Use program icons, 2. Enter Konspose opens dock 3. exit Konspose closes dock. (I believe that 2 and 3 get you that tiger look and fell. Checking 2 and 3 gets the dock to rise when going into heads up and down when closing heads up. Also I have the wheel botton opacity down so low you cant see it but you (the user) know it's there.
I use this on a laptop and when I'm on battery my settings are to save battery so the functionallity goes down and had to close the dock...but as soon as I get rid of this old eArmyU IBM I'll be good to go!!!
Hope this helps.

Hi, I tried using the "heads up" option but the dock disappeared with it and any other sign of a widget gone off into the ether.
Sadly, I don't have a MAC any more so I don't know what I should have been seeing when I turned on "heads up"
Any suggestions as to how to get it back?

I got to say that this widget is great.....as soonas you read the feedback. A few tips for new users.....read the "README"s. As soon as you get the config down you are off and running. Then this widget can be moded to do alot. I would like to add different colors...wood paneling, maybe some silver, and some carbon. I like to see if you can program it to bring up the Heads-up display...Don't know about you but I have my widgets all on a heads up only...like in Mac Tiger. My next bit to this widget will be to figure out the icons and making some for my widgets....wish me luck!!! THANKS SILVIO

I installed WidgetDockMod on XP SP2 and made the mistake of setting widget opacity to less than 100%. I could not then select the widget at all. I tried uninstalling and reloading but the damage was done. Each time I reinstalled I got the untouchable widget and the only way I could get rid of it was to remove all traces of WidgetDockMod.
I then found Widget Dock and I dowloaded it in the hope that I could get it working and then add "Mod" which I take to be the update.
I now have this version working but could not drag and drop widgets into the dock. I had to add them by includng their file locations.
So I am very happy with it except I cannot find how to make the icons in the dock match the wdgets. I get the default widget icon for them all.
Please advise how to get the right icon to relate to each widget. None of the readmes explains this.
Thanks

Thanks Silvio,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I actually had fixed the problem on my own awhile back, that's why I haven't been back here to look for your reply. Anyways, I just deleted the program, and then deleted it from the registry, and then downloaded it again. So everything is fine now. BTW, for anyone that's wondering, this widget works great on my PC, and I haven't ran into a bug yet. I'm running Windows XP SP2. Also, informer is another great widget with only one bug that I've noticed - if you remove the time sensor off of the bar, you won't be able to get it back. One last one, in my opinion, an underrated widget, is the pinpoint widget which groups tons of search engines in one widget and you're also able to type in a url directly from the desktop to go to the website. This one has also performed flawlessly. Anyways, great widget Silvio. To have it running on my PC is really saying something - I'm very picky.

@Golfhack thanks. about your problem. one way is like "Law Ninja" has written. The second possibliity is to show the dock via the shortcut ctrl(strg)+F8 and enter the context menu.
@Law Ninja the sudden shutdown of the widget or the engine is a known problem that users told me about randomly. i cant tell you why this is happening because the problem arises only very rarely. sorry for no better answer.
have fun, Silvio

If it is still running, you could right-click on the Konfabulator icon in your system tray, select "Widget Preferences>WigetDockMod2.9b" and go from there.
As for the widget, very nice. I find it quite handy. Although, sometimes when I open a widget using the dock, it will either 1.) close the dock, or 2.) close the widget engine entirely.

Silvio, Awesome widget probably one of the best, if not THE best out there. I did run into a problem though and I was hoping you or someone else out there could help me. I set the opacity of the wheel to 0%. It was a stupid thing to do on my part, cause now I cant even see the wheel on my desktop. To make things even worse, because the opacity was set to zero, when I move the cursor over to where the wheel is supposed to be the cursor won't even identify it (I guess because it can't see it. So now I can't even get to the preferences in order to turn up the opacity. Therefore I'm sitting there with a perfectly good widget running in the background that I can't even get access to (or see). I was wondering if you or anyone else out there might have a fix for this. I'd like to keep the program, because I think its awesome, but at the same time its useless in the state that its in. If there was some way I could get to the preferences window that would be gr

@Pablo thanks. The answer to Your question about closing the opened widget via the dock is that it wont be possible until there will be an open API in the Widget Engine to do so. There is only one way to comunicate with another widget and that implies changes in that widget too. So it would only work if every widget developer implement such functionality in his/her widget. and thats not possible right now. but maybe in future versions of Yahoo!'s Widget Engine.

Silvio, congratulations and thank you very much! Long time ago i have been looking for a really good valued dock for my widgets, and if posible that look like mac, and finally you have come my dream true. I just have one question, onces i open any widget it just stays open until i manually closed it, don't really remember how it works on mac, but i tought that when i do my next click i could close my widget instead of manually closing it? Well maybe later in a next update. Once again, thank for a really nice stuff!

@JRC Your USB Drive is flashing when you click on a widget? very strange. is the widget located on the drive? or the widgetdock folder? is there any error in the debug window (if you enable the global debug mode of konfabulator/YWE?

Those four stars apply if only I could use the widget. Everything works fine until I click on a widget to start it. I can see my USB Drive flashing and then nothing ever happens. I have tried downloading different versions, clearing the dock and nothing seems to make it work. It's a shame because there's nothing like it on the web.

change images: go to the widget manager --> click on the little icons you want to change --> an open file dialog comes up --> choose your custom image
resize the dock: open the context menu --> enable "Resize Mode" --> click and hold down the mouse button on the little white arrows in the middle of the dock and move them up or down to resize the dock and its contents.
have fun, SioSae

If you cant get the widget to load correctly please try to download it again. i did it right now. installed the newest widget engine on my pc which hay never before have eighter the widget itself or the engine on it. downloaded the widget, unpacked it and made a double click on the widget file. the engine asked if i want to start the new unknown widget and after said yes my widget tells me it starts for the very first time and doing so i have to choose a config file. an empty version of such a file is located in the WidgetDockMod folder extracted from the zip archive. after choosing that file (WidgetDock.config) the widget loads. DONE. Please try it again if you have any problems. its not nice having all this bad comments here (and if you have to comment like this, doing it only once would be nice too)...

for changing the icons, open the widget manager and click on the icons. a file dialog will open and you can choose any image you want to be displayed for the chosen item.
and about the beta of closing widgets. until this feature is using a undocumented com interface of YWE (and therefore causing problems on some systems) it wont get a final state.

Also I have a problem about changing the icons of the widgets. I think it's a directory problem on my system about the "Icons" folder, which I couldn't find a solution. This dock is sweet, I had alot of these before, but this is really unique. It should be PART of YWE and not a widget itself, completely replacing the insufficient "Open Widget" thing in the system tray menu. One thing is itching me, though. Some widget names are really long and kinda bleed into each other, making them unreadable. Shortening the names is an alternative, but the in-widget name won't match and most of the time won't make sence. Maybe long names are faded out at the ends, that fade in when the pointer is on the widget. Or even better, a little display window rectangle thing that comes off the gear thing that shows names as they are selected, or something... Consider scratching that itch...

Hey this is a great widget! got some real amazing functionality but its just missing a few features that are stopping it from being the best widget on yahoo!
• Shortcut links - I know you’ve been told but sadly windows just revolves around them and linking to the hundreds exe’s takes forever.
• Resizing Icons - that’d be cool for having more than one row icons showing at one time
Dude you’re so close!!! This is actually one of the most amazing widgets on Yahoo! Nothing comes close to providing this functionality and stability. I don’t know how hard it would be to add in a programming sense but if you do get a chance to add these two functions it really will make this widget the ultimate organizational tool for anyone who uses it.
Have a go mate we all appreciate the work put into these!

I was able to get the Widgets to appear in the Widget Manager correctly by exiting the Widget, editing the config file manually changing all location values to be the complete path to the Widgets using forward slashes, and restarting the Widget. It appears that the routine used to get the names of objects in a folder doesn't work properly with Mac OS X.

I am probably echoing the others, but you did a fantastic job of emulationg the widget dock in OSX Tiger. This tool really puts Yahoo's widget engine with Apples. It is so great that I think that Yahoo should have built this kind of thing into the engine itself. Anyways, great attition.

One thing that would be really nice, is that when you open a widget for the first time, rather than opening it, it copies it to the widgets folder and adds it to the dock, or at least scans the widgets folder for changes every now and then. Or does it do that, and i have missed something?

Hmmm: The dock is resizable. enable it in the context menu and take the little slider arrows in the middle of the dock to make an "on the fly" resize. resize the wheel with the dock by setting the entry in the context menu.

I kind of like having a little icon to launch a bar, but the bar is waaaaay to big of a dock to be functional. It takes up like 1/6 of the screen at 1280x1024. It needs to be MUCH smaller, or at the very least configurable in terms of size. Some of us like having some actual realestate. Also the background is okay, but it would be better if it was configurable.

Twisted: opacity of 0% means the wheel wont be shown at all (and that includes diesabling user interaction too). thats how the opacity works in Konfab/YWE: "An opacity of 0 is completely transparent (invisible) and has such side effects as preventing the object from reacting to mouse events." so if you set the value to 0%, you wont be able to click it. thats why you should be sure what you do. you can still open the dock by strg+f8 and reset the opacity in the context menu (right click on the appearing dock). to achieve a "invisible" but clickable wheel just make sure not to set the opacity to at least a bit higher than 0%.

Twisted: Can't you use the widget engine itself to go to widget preferences and change them from that menu? Assuming you use Yahoo, right click, go to widget preferences, and select widgetdockmod... it will open the widget prefs and you can change them there. This should work unless I'm missing something from what you said.

I thought this was a great widget until I found a serious flaw.
I was hoping to lower the opacity of the wheel to 0% and just know where it was (in a specific corner) on my desktop. But to my dismay it didn't hold true to what you said. 0% opacity means its still there, just 0% visible. Well yours just disappeared on me and now I can't right click on where I know it is or not. I think this is a huge flaw. I have tried quitting the the widget and restarting it but that does not work. Is there anything else I can do or have I just completely destroyed my chance at getting it back ever again?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

Very nice!
One odd thing, running on an Mac iMac G5 with Yahoo widget Engine 3.0.2: The widget dock insists on riding *above* wherever the real Mac dock is. I can drag it so it's even with the bottom of my screen, but if I close and reopen WidgetDock, or Y.W.E., it wants to jump up above the dock once again.
If I keep my dock in "Hide" mode, all is fine, but i like the mac dock to be visible.

Simply an awesome widget and the most useful if you use widgets extensively! A work of art. Definitely 5 stars for the concept alone!
I have been having some stability issues. Sometimes it simply disappears and nothing I do except total reinstallation of everything can restore it. I end up having to reinstall the Yahoo engine and the widget dock plus all widgets from scratch.. A huge job. Any ideas?

at the beginning all features were listed but as the features grows more and more i decided to stop listing all features (it is a big screenshot and if i would list all features in detail you had to scroll 2-3 pages down to see the first comment). the description above tells you what the widget simply does. and the new features/bugfixes are explained too so you can decide to download the new version if you want the new features or not (the same with the bugfixes). i never thought about the fact that my short description would artificial raise my download count, because i honestly dont care (if i would, i could have done one release per new feature, did you think about that?). so, is this the only point for your low rating? hm, interesting.

it stays where it is during and after opening an item (widget, program, folder) unless you doesn't check the "hide dock after open widget" entry in the context menu. what do you mean by closing anyway. does the widget close completely? than it is a bug and maybe a little more information like running os and debug output could help because i havn't expierienced that problem.

Is it possible somehow to let the Dock appear with a MouseOver? The Dock also always closes when I open a new application, e.g. a new Excel window. But I want it to stay there or at least it should be there again after closing the application. The best would be if it works like on an Apple desktop.

there is already a way to resize the dock. simply enable the resize mode via the context menu and move the little arrows which appears in the middle of the top border up and down. skinning: 1. there is another (original) version of the dock (www.siosae.de). 2. skinning isn't that complicated to realize, maybe i add it to a next release. customization: is made available only in the widget manager (which grows over the time). i thought about making it available in the dock itself too but always then it will make my manager a little more obsolete and i spend so much time in making it :) but maybe a context menu isn't that bad.

Cool, I didn't think anyone would reply so I just sort of complained in my last post. I'll try to provide some more constructive criticism this time :)
The black bar: bascially what I mean is that I can't resize or skin the "dock". The dock takes up a lot of room, the icons are huge, and it's black. It would be cool if I could resize the dock (like a window) and change the icon sizes. You don't have to provide multiple skins, I could just change the original images myself, but it would be more user friendly if there were additional skins in the preferences.
The best thing that I think you could do to this widget is add the ability to drag and drop shortcuts from the desktop to the dock. Then, with a simple right-click you can change the icon (to a PNG file or something).
That would be great! Then your widget would function like a second desktop! It would need to be able to add My Computer and My Network Connections as well.

there is a widget manager window where you can change the icons by clicking on them there. about you're limited to one black bar...whats your point, didn't get it? because earlier releases of konfabulator sometimes crashed by using fileicons (the ones inside an exe-file). i disabled this feature but in the next release coming next monday i will make it available again by choice. but your point has a nice idea inside. maybe its not a bad idea if i manage to transfer a shortcut to a dock item when drag it to the dock. i just get the idea how to do it. we'll see if it works. I downloaded this thinking I could use it like a "DesktopWidget" where I could launch programs and access folders while keeping my normal Desktop clean. But so far this isn't looking like the right Widget for the job... the fact that I'm limited to a narrow black bar that holds enormous icons keeps me from putting as many shortcuts on it as I would liek to.
Alos, how..... HOW in God's name do you change the icons for program shortcuts?? There is no right-click > change icon option. What the hell?
If anyone can recommend a Widet that lets you transfer your shortcuts from the desktop, please let me know. I've tried a few Widgets already and none of them do the job riht or just take up way too much memory...

@politicalslug thanks for your really constructive comment. this release is used by many people without having any problems. i didn't say, it hasn't any bugs because i have a small list to fix actually for a next release coming soon. i dont know why programs dont launch for you, works well on several (at least 6 different ones) machines for me and i think for many others too. If you have enabled spawing for widgets, for every widget you start a copy will be temporarely generated and started instead of the original widget. this is made to get the spawning done. so the state of your widget wont be deleted. if you select single instance widget, than your original one will be loaded again. maybe the widget takes this much system resources because it generates an error. on my machines its fine (and by the way, it doesn't matter how many widgets are in the dock because they are just links). I believe it works well for most of the users as you can see in earlier comments. maybe y

Without a doubt, this is my top favorite of all my widgets. What people fail to realize is that it doesn't come with the icons - you think he is going to make all those icons for whatever you're running? You have to make - or find them - yourself. I recommend using the icons for ObjectDock - an application where you can make a Mac-style sidebar for PC. ObjectDock's website has hundred of icons you can download, and a lot of major programs and games should have at least a couple icons there for it. They mesh very well with this widget. I've only had trouble with a couple programs starting, and it was the program's fault, not the widget. Bravo!

This can't even be called a beta. I'll call it an Alpha. I'm amazed you had the gall to release something this unpolished to the public. Here are the problems I've found. Programs don't launch, only folders and widgets. When widgets launch, they've lost all prior settings. The learning curve on this is rediculous and your notes are insufficient. The widget itself, without any widgets in the dock takes up 50% of my system resources - that's on an Athlon 64 3000 with 1.5GB of ram. Not good. Not good at all. This was a good idea, but you've a terribly long way to go. Perhaps you ought to solicit help from the other developers out there if you aren't capable of completing this project on your own.

This is great! Only one thing, when I bring up the manage widgets window and then select a widget's icon to assign it a new one, the Open Window for the icon selection is behind the Manage Widget window. I have to go to the Widget preference Window and select "Normal" in the "Level of Window" field (Even if it is already selected) and then click okay. The open window for the Widget icon selection is then on top.
P.S. I am running Konfabulator/Yahoo! Widget Engine 3.0.2 (Build 79)

It's mee again. This widget is very nice when it works, so I give it three stars now. However, it is completely worthless to me now because anytime I open any widget with it, it closes all my open widgets, then closes Konfabulator. When I reopen Konfabulator, my widgets return, but I still don't like the close and open thing. The closing of widgets has been disabled, so I am not using any beta features.

about the beta closing function, its beta because it doesn't work well on some systems. dont know why, for many users the feature works but unfortunately on some configurationsit crashes konfab. until there is no solution for this, it will stay beta. fetching program icons were done in previous versions but commented out because of a crashing widgetdockmod on some programs. for me it was ms word for instance, adding it to the dock and let the dock take its icon the widget crashes. so disabling this feature was the only choice for me to garantee a working widget. This thing is AWESOME. I don't like going widget-hunting for the widget I'm looking for for like 5 mins, and then when I find it, I don't even want it anymore. This closes widget-hunting season for good. See, the only problem is when I open a spicific widget, like _earthquakes_ @: http://www.widgetgallery.com/view.php?widget=37196 it closes both WidgetDockMod and Konfabulator itself! I got to reopen Konfabulator and WDM, _then_earthquakes comes up. Also, WDM resetts it's position. And it still does that thing where it's stuck in the middle of the screen, even when I hold down Ctrl. What's up with that? Anyway, it would be total sweetness if WDM could fetch widget icons (or programs icons, for that matter) from a designated webpage. I don't know where one is, so that's why I'm asking you.

I am working on the bugs that obviousely preventing this widget version to be released for mac too (like former versions). as soon as i will know exactely whats going wrong, i'll fix it and release a new version. always wanted to have this widget for both platforms but without having a mac testing ground it was always some kind of shot in the dark and i just got lucky until now. nice, let me add a link to your icons in the "more icons..." link page. in the new v2.8 release you can modify default icons for widgets, folder and programs seperatelly. i will upload the widget today, but remember the last time it took over a week to get it released. the new version fixes some performance issues in the widget manager and add a new undo function to the context menu of the manager. you can find the version already on my new (still under construction) homepage www.siosae.de

Hi SioSae Regarding the CPU comment I made, probably my fault, I had Widget Dock load my whole library, so no wonder things slowed down. Have pared things down a bith and no trouble no. Widget still shuts down Konfabulator though. Sometimes it works fine, other times not, even on the same widget. I'll keep testing it to see if there's any pattern and let you know.

I dont know why it isn't working for you because i didn't get all of these errors. wouldn't release such a buggy version.
@tsunami99 about the closing of konfab after starting a widget via the dock, no idea why this is happening, didn't change a line of code about the open widget implementation in the past versions. does the cpu goes mental if you do something in the manager (what?) or even if you have show the manager and do nothing (there is a small bug in this version, the manually sort feature is called even if you change a name or image, etc. have fixed it for a new release coming this monday.
@new guy do you have anything more buggy things to report, please let me know. thanks a lot. comment out the last lines of code in the onLoadWD.js to deacitvate the update check.

Every time I try to open a widget from the dock, Knofabutor shuts down. No error message, just quietly closes. Does this with all widgets. Also, when I try to manage widgets in the window, CPU usage goes mental. Please let this be someting I've done wrong. Cos if I can get it working this will be the bestest widget ever...

Where can we get those icons for widgets? If they're that good, i'd host them myself!
Great job on the widget. Would it be at all possible to have an option to make the dock, when it rolls up, to "move" the desktop up -- like the dashboard on mac - i believe it does this with a screenshot, because when the dashboard is opened, nothing else is click-able, but the effect is very neat because it looks like you're opening up BEHIND the desktop rather than on top... it would be a neat option but i'm sure some people might not like it because it's a bit limiting (having the dock open and not being able to interact with the desktop temporarily) Thanks!

hi there, had to do a lot of different things so I couldn't finish the next release. working on it right now and it will be out the end of the week hopefully (at least the dashboard like version on aqua-soft, the update here will take a week or more because of the reviewing of the uploaded version by the site admins).
@dennis the screenshot here wasn't made by me, instead of coming from the admins of the gallery i think. but yes, i would like to add the icons to the dock so people find them where they need them. would be great. about the predefined config for the girlfriend of yours. maybe its best to put the widgetdock and all wanted widgets to a folder like c:/widgetdock/... because there should be always a c-drive, the links will be found automatically and all you have to do is loading the config once.
@gadget ollie in the next release you can define a vertical offset for the dock while at bottom screen position. you enable it like the resize mode and move the do

As a fan of this widget I made up a bunch of png-icons for it (Google Images!, The Weather, Winamp Remote, Kalculator, Calendar, Blck_Clock, Firefox).
some requested the icons SioSae shows us in his screenshots, further more I got a psd-template with some nifty metalic backgroundsfor ya, so ya can do it on your own and nobodys "mentally owned copyright" will be hurt.

This is by far the BEST widget!
Small suggestions for a possible future release. With multiple pages of widgets the arrows to move pages to the left or right are only on the one side of the widget. Is it possible to have both the left and right arrows on both sides? (I'm lazy, when you start the widget I always seem to need to go to the right and the mouse is always on the left of the screen.)
When used on the topmost window position, the widget sit on top of the Windows taskbar hiding it underneath the widget.
It would be nice to be able to arrange the widgets on the page you want. Maybe in the 'Manage Widgets' window, a 'move up' and 'move down' button could move widgets to the order you wish? Right now, you must manually modify the configuration file to place widgets in the random order you want to see them in.
The is really a great tool and I appreciate the effort you must have put into this.
Many, many, many THANKS and keep up the great

Hi there, I liked to send my girlfriend a completly pre-configuered widgetDock, packed as a zip, including all my favorite widgets and additive icons.
i tried to re-write the config-file to give *relative* paths for each widget, but it wont work. If relative paths could be possible in the config, creating a subdirectory, putting all widgets in there before zipping, would make it easy to handle for those I want to show this widget. They just have to extract the main-directory with all its contents and simply start the widgetDock.widget to get it nice & smooth running.
yeah, .... and f$$$ing big sh$t thanks dude for this exellent helper! konfabulator-team should buy it off from you for some nice shiny bucks.

Yeah I think the problem is with the files in the temp folder, because the widgets that are open and running when I shut down are not spawned on startup and they are not copied into the temp folder. By the way I also have the same problem with WidgetDock. Thanks for keeping up with these comments and for putting your time and effort into this great widget.

SioSae: I love the widget dock but I'm having one small problem which I'm thinking might be related to the "checks if updates available" feature in 2.6. When I'm at school at start my computer my laptop connects to the wireless network but I don't automatically have an internet connection unless I authenticate. It appears WidgetDock sees the live connection and tries to update but it then hangs using all CPU time until I manually kill it through Task Manager. When I'm at home at connect to the internet straight away I don't have the problem and when my wireless card is disabled at boot I don't have the problem. Anyway to turn off the autoupdating feature???

@Carl sorry, i haven't test my widgetdock on a mac, so for now i dont know why it slow down on your machine. i will ask a friend to test it for me.
@Qwerty choose the widgetdock.config coming with the zip-archive. keep in mind to have the temp folder beside the file. and initially the config is empty. you can choose to add all widgets from a specified folder (see context menu) but actually i believe they have to be enabled in the manager. you get there by clicking manage widgets and after the icon shows up click on it to open the manager. hope this helps

This release does only have the following new features: - support for programs and folders - sort by type - option to close open widget by click it again - correct skaling of icons - check if updates available - some new context menu options: - set configuration file - choose another default icon - automatically load widgets from a specified folder - enable resizing of the dock
moving of the widget, different screen position, manually sort and maybe more will be coming in the next release. I decided to make this version because I put both WidgetDock's together so they wont have different features anymore.

thats the problem with this feature. on some machines it wont work. i hadn't any problems on mine like many others but some does so i decided not to delete this feature but to let the user choose: if it will work on their systems they can use it, if it doesn't it should stay disabled. The whole "problem" is that using the COM interface of konfabulator (thats what i did with this feature) isn't supported by konfabulator. so, i'm sorry if it doesn't work on some systems, but for now i dont know how to fix this. Ba the way, the new release has the feature to load all widgets from any folder you like.

Excellent widget...
For those of you wanting icons in the windows version, a work around is to down-load the icons from the widget gallery website (They are in .png format for the widgets you would like to dock. Save them to a folder in your widgets directory and then when you add a widget to your dock you can click the question mark in manage widgets to select the downloaded .png file. Hope this helps... I have just tested with the chrome clock widget and it worked fine.

The difference between the WidgetDock v2.5 and the WidgetDockMod v1.1: I started with the WidgetDock, so the version number is higher. The functionality is almost the same and will be completely the same again with the next releases (v2.6 and v1.2) coming in about 2 weeks (holiday break). for now the original one handles programs and folders too. Great widget, but I have a question. I use a dual monitor desktop and for some reason, the dock insists on opening on my second monitor. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to open on the other monitor, but it insists on being on the second one for some reason. Is there any way to make it open on the primary monitor?

Sio Sae, can you please tell me the difference between the version from the Widget Gallery here and the one from osx-e.com? The one on osx-e says it's v2.5 and on here only 1.1 - is that actually true or just because Widget Gallery doesn't let you start at v2.5 or something? Which one should I download if I want the newest version? Thanks.

changing the images in the widget manager window by clicking on the little icon between the checkbox and the name of the widget. the next release will have most of your suggestions included and will have the ability to add programs and folders like the original widgetdock has already.

thought it might be cool if there could be an option (like the other checkbox options, spawn etc) that would close the widget that you clicked on if it were open. right now it reloads it. just an idea.

Never Mind!... I figured it out... the read-me file needs a bit more clarity though... all you have to do is click on the "?" icon on the Manage Widgets panel... not the dock bar itself... and then locate the save *.png file. Works great... FOUR STARS!!!!!

Great Widget! Not yet a 4 though. Icons should be drag and drop easy.
Andy Shap... easy enough to save an *.png image of a widget... how do you actually asign it to the default image... whenever I try to update the config file renaming the default image file name... and save it... when I open it the default setting has returned!

Don't get yourself down! It's good and thats why we all want it to be perfect, because we all will use it.
http://www.osx-e.com/downloads/dashboard/widget_dock.html for some reason, that one looks sweeter?! Like I said that wheel made me close that widget...I don't want to have to see it. Make a key pop it up. Those widgets that I dont run at startup, don't get launched later anyway... there's no incentive for me using that thing unless I have tens of those widgets.

Great Widget! I'd love to be able to size the widgets as well as choose to have more than one row displayed.
Everyone: Here is an easy way to add any icon you wish for the widgets in your dock... Go to the download page for the widget of your choosing. Right click on the picture of the Widget and choose "Save Picture As..." Save it to a location of your choice. You now have a graphic of every Widget you need!
P.S. I didn't like the green background, so I opened the picture in my graphics program (Photoshop) and painted a blue background.

Looks cool, I have one problem though - I use it in Konspose-only mode, and it seems to launch widgets/windows (e.g. the add widget dialog) in an unusable state. They appear to be in the background when Konspose is up, and they disappear when I exit Konspose. Do others have the same problem?

Awesome widget. Great job. I give 3 stars because there is room for some improvement. suggestions: 1. allow drag and drop to the bar 2. use a different default icon for widgets other than the question mark. something similar to the look of the widgets actual icon would be good, or perhaps dig up a way to automatically see if the widget is in the gallery, if so, download the gallery image automatically as the icon. 3. tooltips man, you gotta use tooltips. 4. allow the cool rolling gear clicky to be moved somewhere else on the screen, perhaps by using a different window 5. allow the dock to be placed somewhere other than the bottom of the screen. every time you click the rolling gear, it moves right back to the bottom. 6. allow us to make that bar smaller. the previous comment suggesting multiple rows of icons if the icons are small enough is good.

Gorgeous, works well, and is definitely useful for launching all my games widgets (I don't want to keep them open all the time)! As people have already said, icons and extra docking options (sides/top) would really finish this off. Drag and drop would be handy, too. Still, I love it!

I love this widget so far. Took me a couple minutes to figure out but once I did it works great. One question though, where are you getting the custom icons from? Are you making those yourself with screenshots? It would be handy to have those already available but I know that would require you mnaking a LOT of icons.

Just a couple peaves Won't lock on 2nd monitor in a Dual Monitor setup. Keeps jumping back to monitor #1 Primary.
And it would be Nice to be able to flip 180 in Hortz. and Vert. So Can palce widge at top or bottom and Sides.
Otherwise Very Snazzy and Cool.
