Give CLUpdater (Craigslist Updater) a try, it currently support all the 204 cities across craigslist. The latest version was release on 10/09/2007.
You can find it at

Nice Widget. Would be nicer if all the categories worked. Web / Information Design doesn't work. It pulls arts / crafts.

You don't have a listing for Sarasota / Bradenton FL, Also I would like to be able to view Multiple cities in different windows. Have one set up as Sarasota, the other as Ft Myers. Same goes for different categories, I would like to view 2 or more in one window or at least a different in different windows

I love this widget. Really puts me on top of the "Free Stuff" on CL. Some of the subcategories for your reader are not the same as what I see on CL. Is there a way to update or change subcategories?

Great widget, you just need to make the fonts and font size user selectable.

Well done! I love Craigslist and Widgets - and this one does a very good job of combining the two. Love the color schemes.

The reader works great, except I cannot access the San Diego Craigslist. Is there a work-around for this?

Joe - fixed the San Diego error: it was building a bad RSS address. Look for version 2.1
lg - I was unable to re-create your gigs problem. The Craigslist "gigs" section has some strange, non-computer related posts in it. If you select -- GIGS -- that will look at the whole section, but if you select -computer underneath that, it should just be computer stuff.

Sorry, description should say "Can read any *RSS* section of Craigslist". I thought the personals did not support rss, but they do! I will include them in another version. Also: International version coming soon!

I like it but you say it supports ANY catagory from ANY craigslist but it doesn't support the personals catagory at all?

I like this idea, I look at CL constantly. All it needs to do is include CL listings for non-US locations. For instance <vancouver.craigslist.org>.
Runs fine on my XPpro machine.
Cheers, S

to ric and katlady - Sorry for the widget implosion - I made the widget on WinXP pro, so i'm not quite sure what's wrong there. I was unable to test the widget on OSX... If you are a Mac person and widget source code makes sense to you, please post some suggestions for improvement and i'll try to implement them. In the mean time i'll try to figure out Microsoft's COM object. Thanks for the posts!

It has worked good for me so far !! All the commands work. Couple of suggestions if they could be incorporated in the next version: 1. If I could change the font size of the letters below the current minimum. 2. If I could change the window size so that I can read the complete items. Keep going !!
