Comments for Pacers NBA Schedule

Sarah - December 7, 2005
There's a couple more teams up on my website (http://widgets.orbona.com), but that's probably it until after the holidays. And altho I've already said this, I'll say it again: I don't do requests that are in the comments section. Email me (see readme or about) or post on my forum or PM me at this forum.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I ignore widget requests that are made in the "comments" section. I have a lot of widgets in the gallery right now, and while I appreciate the feedback, I see the "comments" as useful for other people who might want to use the widget and not as a good medium for correspondance with the developer. So, I don't really read the comments anymore (it's just too much work going thru ~25 widgets). If you want me to do something, see the Readme for my email address and ask nicely.

However, with the holiday season here, I'm not sure I'll have time to do anymore until next year.

This is a great widget. Any chance of a Piston Widget just like this one?

The Lakers widget is done, and it is here:
http://www.orbona.com/lakers.html

Also, I've updated the Pacers widget, so y'all should do a "Check for newer version".

Cool Widget. Any chance of getting a Lakers NBA Schedule widget. I would love to have that widget.

Scott- thanks for the feedback, and if I have time I'll put that into a future release.

Also, if anyone else is adopting this for their own team, could you drop me an email and let me know so there's no duplication? I've made one for the Lakers, but currently have no plans to do another team (altho that may change)

Excellent! Thanks for making this!

If your still taking suggestions, how about instead of showing the current months games, have options to show the next X games and the last X games, regardless of the month.

Hi. I love this widget. But I'm a Spurs fan. :(

Yet another version ...

1.0.3 didn't work properly (or at all) on OSX (sorry, I got sloppy and forgot to check it there first). So if any of y'all are on Macs, do another "check for newer version" or go here and get 1.0.4:
http://www.orbona.com/pacers.html

And Languid, you should update your Sonic code as well- the only file I changed was "cleanHTML.js". Just drop in the new one and all will be good.

Thanks for the update Sarah -- everything's working as it should.

Re: Sonics version, once I get around to updating everything properly I'll consider posting the Sonics widget here as a derivative work under the conditions you've specified.

Thanks again for all your work!

Is there a Cleveland Cavaliers schedule widget? I'd punch babies to get one. If anyone knows of one or could make one, hook me up and I'll love you! jsausama@kent.edu

The fixed version (1.0.3) is up. You can get it here:
http://www.orbona.com/pacers.html

Or do a "Check for latest".

Thanks Languid :-)

My code had a bug, which is why you saw the weirdness with the radio column. I'll be uploading a new version in ~20 minutes or so. Thanks for letting me know- I never show that column either.

And you should upload your Sonics widget (after you've, uh, incorporated my changes I mention above). My license allows you to modify and distribute my code as long as you a) don't sell it, b) give me credit somewhere (like in the readme and source files), and c) distribute your modifications with the same type of license.

Wow Sarah, nicely done...

I'm a Sonics fan, so I transformed your Pacers widget into a Sonics widget (for my personal use *only*). Nice code and well commented -- super easy to tweak :D

One thing I did notice is that for upcoming games, the radio column displays the high rebounds from the previously played game. Perhaps it's merely a difference between my schedule and the Pacers' schedule. Not a big deal to me since I don't display that column anyways, but thought you may be interested.

Thanks for a handy widget!

Hello everyone! Someone kindly pointed out to me that the widget is broken. After some investigation, I discovered that the AOL NBA site is *completely* messed up. They aren't closing all their HTML tags, which is wreaking havoc on my regular expressions that parse the data on the page. It's amazing that my widget was working at all.

I have uploaded a version (not to the Gallery yet, but to my own site) that contains a fix for the AOL badness. So now, completed games should show up again. You can do a "check for latest version", or go here: http://www.orbona.com/pacers.html

Stupid AOL- what kind of company hires a web developer that DOESN'T CLOSE ALL THEIR HTML TAGS? I mean, really ...

Is there a way someone could make one of these for the Detroit Pistons?

Diana- I wouldn't have uploaded a corrupt file, and I am able to download and open the widget without a problem. Ricky (a Yahoo employee) tests *every* widget to make sure it works and to verify that there isn't any malicious code in the widget before he uploads it to the Gallery. Perhaps the corruption happened during your download. Try downloading it again, or from a different computer.

works just fine for me, the only one with an obvious problem is "diana from Indy". Nice widget!

According to the file download info, this file cannot be opened cos it is corrupted in some way. So to not take any risks, I will NOT download OR open this file until you make the attempt, see the same message I got, and take action to fix the problem you so obviously have. I sure would have liked to have had this tho.......
