Nice Widget. However, I have a problem using it. I have two HD, but can only monitor one of them. I used to monitor my primary HD all the time, then I added a second HD and switched Disc Monitor to that drive and that worked fine. Now, I can't switch it back to my primary HD. I've restarted the widget, deleted it, re-downloaded it but it will still only monitor my secondary HD and it will not switch to my primary HD. Any help would be appreciated.

@bitchface_95120: You can get an old Version here: http://www.bluepaw.de/projects/widgets/download/release/ But how small do you need the graph? I could add it to v2.2.

I love this thing, no problems and is exactly what I am looking for. Is there a way to get the 1.0 version.. I could make the height on that one smaller than this one, and I prefer that. any have the old one somewhere?

It works fine on two of my machines, but on one of them it says No Network Adapter Detected and then exits. :(

I like the functionality, but this widget (and the others by Andreas) are heavy on the CPU usage. I find that this one alone puts up my CPU usage by around 5-8%. Before installing this widget, I was idling at around 7-10$. Now I'm idling at around 10-15% or more. This isn't acceptable.

Thanks for this! Just what I was looking for. A minor nit, the text label for reads is completely obscured by the graph, but the text label for writes shows through the graph just fine.
Using default colors - black text, green graph for reads and red for writes.
Thanks again, .....G

First, I use this tool to monitor both my HDD & see just how the I/O speeds are doing; I love being able to watch this.
Next, I also use it to watch what is happening with my Vista 'Ready Boost.' Until I started using this tool, I wasn't even certain that Ready Boost was working. Now I can see how fast different flash devices I plug into for Ready Boost use are performing, how long they take to load & how much they actually contribute to Vista's performance.
Nice work... I love this tool!

All you guys calling this widget spyware are _MORONS_ Did you notice the option that said "Online version check"? Seriously, use some common sense before making rash accusations. People dont write spyware or viruses in widgets because the sourcecode is easily viewable.
To the author... Great work Fantastic widget!

I would like to know why an Internet connection is open towards “www.kreisl.com” when “Disc Monitor” is launched? Is it a SPYWARE ?

Yeah on the non-rating stuffy. I'm the main guilty but I didn't know then how to "rate" a widget so Andreas' top-flight work went begging for a well-deserved four stars. Sorry.

OK--I see the reason for a low rating. A lot of cats have not bothered to rate it and that pulls down the average on this really great Widget. Guess what? I'm going to dooky the average up some. The Widg deserves better from us.

This is a TERRIFIC TOOL for knowing what is going on in your PC. Just a perfect design. In fact, I have just about the entire series--Net, Disc (2 HDs) and CPU--and have them scaled down to about a regular postage stamp in total area and can tell at a glance what the heck is going on. I can't understand why it has such a low average rating because it doesn't get any better than this.

Why do these widgets, especially the disk monitors, need internet access? They will not load or install without it.
I ahve a weather widget and the disc monitor - and neither will start until internet access is established.
Are they SpyWare ????

Thank you Lees_Sword. I know thet there are some functions covered on more widgets from me. But Sys Monitor is so writen that if you disable a function, it wouldn't use resources.

Correction and up date on previous post. It was the "sys monitor" that I skipped, not the "net monitor". I now have downloaded the sys monitor even though it duplicates some of the systembloc functions and the "netstat" Widget I already have. Why both the duplication and this download. I like to double-check on things.
Additionally, Andreas--and for your information. I will later today draft a post at the World Community Grid wibsite forum about your four monitor Widgets (sys, net, cpu, disc) and netstat. There are some 300,000 PCs linked into the grid that are volunteered for any of three or all three medical-research projects, or for other science applications. And there is an ongoing controversy among the volunteers about what is going on while their PCs are processing the downloaded files--in other words, "what is going on inside my PC?"
Your monitors will greatly assist in explaining this to the users. Thanks, pal. You are a champ.

You sold me on two of the three. I skipped the Net Monitor because it does some things I'm not interested in and some things that I already have covered or don't have. And I have just the right spot to wiggle both in. (I sure wish you guys would drop these rounded corners. Makes my stack of Widget in the lower right of my deaktop look a little funky.
Keep 'em coming, Dude. How's about getting the Disc Monitor to read an alternate HD? I have two that I would like to monitor simulateously.
And here's an idea for you to muse on. I am in the World Community Grid and run my PC 24/7 to proces their study into human proteins. There's about 300,000 PCs in their grid. I would really like to keep an eye of the files they download into my PC for processing. Think you could scare up a monitor for THAT? They have a public website and welcome contact in the forums, for sure. Perhaps there's a contact us link there somewhere. Right now, i'm about 40 percent thro

Totally marvelous Widget. I watch my Diskeeper defrag my hard drives on its own report-display while watching Disc Monitor set to 10-second measurement and sure as Diskeeper finish d'fraging a HD, Disc Monitor's graph went blank. I no longer have to wonder what if anything is being done in the backgroun.
Couple this to the freeSpace Widget, MinimonCPU and those wonderful systemBlox set up to measure Total CPU, Personal CPU, Physical and Vitural Memory and you will know what your computer is up to.
Disc Monitor is worth purchasing if it were for sale. --It isn't, though. It's free!!!!

The "No Network Adapter" message means that there is no supported disc found. Bad Copy&Past from my Net Monitor.
